Year 2 Daily Challenge!
Good morning Year 2. I hope that you had fun yesterday playing the Rocket Game. Did you find lots of words that end in suffixes?
Today's Challenge is Science! I would like you to go on a Minibeast Hunt in your garden or in another safe place outdoors. Remember to look closely in the grass, under stones/rocks, under logs, at the bottom of tree trunks, under paving stones etc. What do you find? What are the living conditions like? Are they warm, cold, dry, damp, wet, light or dark places? What is the minibeast doing? Draw and label the minibeasts that you find in the places that you find them in to create a 'My Minibeast Garden Poster'. I have attached a picture card to help you name the minibeasts and other activities that you may wish to do. If you do not see many minibeasts, you can go out again on a different day and add to your poster.
Extension: Make a model of your favourite minibeast using bits and bobs from around your house for example, an old sock, empty boxes, kitchen roll tubes, empty egg boxes etc.
