Good morning Year 2. I hope you have had a lovely weekend at home in the sunshine. For those children who have made a Minibeast Hotel, did any minibeasts visit your hotel over the weekend?
Today's Activity is English.
I would like you to write a story. I have attached some pictures from a story that we will be reading when we return to school however I would like you to predict what the story might be all about. The attached pictures are in the correct order from the story and what I would like you to do is to try and tell the story through prediction. There is no right or wrong answer, just use your imagination. Think carefully about how your story will start. Try and use some adjectives and adverbs (describing words) in your writing. If you are feeling really clever you might want to use a simile too; explain to your grown up what a simile is. Here is your Writing Checklist.
1.. Every sentence must make sense.
2. Every sentence must start with a tall capital letter.
3. Every sentence must end with a punctuation mark.
4. Check that you have spelt key words correctly.
5. When spelling a word ending in a suffix, write the root word first of all and then decide which spelling rule you will use (just add the suffix, drop the 'e' and add the suffix, double the consonant and add the suffix, change the 'y' to an 'i' and add the suffix).
